For brand, web and packaging designers

The brief filled in and the deposit paid, before you start designing

One link collects your project brief and the deposit. Your client answers on their phone, pays by card, and the money lands in your own Stripe account.

The duct-tape version

The way many designers collect an intake and a deposit today

  • A brief in a shared doc that clients leave half-finished
  • A deposit invoice sent separately, and paid whenever
  • A spreadsheet or Notion board to track which projects are actually booked
  • IntakePay replaces all of it with one private link per client, and a page for your bio when you want one

How it works

Set up once: your business, your Stripe account, your plan. After that, each new client takes three steps.

  1. Step 1: Create the client

Add their name and the project deposit. Your brief questions are copied onto their link.

  2. Step 2: Send one link

Paste it into an email, a DM or a text. IntakePay never emails your client.

  3. Step 3: They brief you and pay

Your client answers the brief and pays the deposit by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The row flips from Pending to Paid and you get an email.

Is it for you?

IntakePay is built around one way of working. If that isn’t yours, a simpler tool will serve you better.

Built for you if

  • You work in projects, such as a brand identity, a website or a packaging range, with the fee agreed upfront.
  • You ask for a deposit before work starts, often half the project fee.
  • You need a proper brief (audience, references, deadline, budget) before the kickoff call.
  • You are a solo designer or a one-person studio.

Not for you if

  • You bill hourly, invoice at the end, and don’t take deposits.
  • You need clients to send brand files or documents through the form. It takes text, links and up to three photos.
  • You want proposals or a contract builder in the same tool. Those are left out on purpose; the full list of what IntakePay won’t do says why.
  • You run a studio where several designers need shared access or roles.

Try it before you sign up

Open the link a fictional designer would send. Fill it in on your phone and see what happens on your side when they pay. Nothing is charged.

Questions from designers

Can clients send me logos or files?

Photos, yes: add a photos question to your form and a client can attach up to three, such as their current logo or screenshots of work they like. No other files: for working files, ask for a link to a shared folder.

Can I ask different questions for different kinds of projects?

You have one intake form at a time. Edit it before you create a client and the new link uses the new questions. Links you have already sent keep the questions they were created with.

What about the final invoice?

IntakePay collects the deposit that books the project. Invoice the balance the way you do today, for example from your own Stripe account.

Does my client need an account?

No. They open the link, answer the brief and pay on Stripe’s checkout page. No sign-up, no password.
